Using Tinker
Sync between computers
Keep the same addons on every computer, with a synced folder or your CurseForge account.
With a synced folder
This needs no account. Tinker keeps your addon list in one file, tinker.json, in a folder that a service such as iCloud Drive or Dropbox keeps in sync.
- On your first computer, open Settings → Sync between computers and choose Choose folder…
- Pick a folder that your sync service keeps, such as one in iCloud Drive.
- On each other computer, pick the same folder.
From then on, installs, updates and removals on any computer reach the others. Tinker checks the file every few seconds while it runs, and syncs each client folder on its own, so Retail and Classic Era keep separate lists.
When two computers changed the same addon before they synced, the version in the synced folder wins. If an install fails on one computer, Tinker tries it again at the next sync, and never takes the failure as a removal.
With your CurseForge account
If some of your computers still run the CurseForge app, Tinker can keep its sync groups current.
- Choose Sign in to CurseForge at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Open Settings → CurseForge account.
- For each client, pick an existing sync group or New sync group, and choose Link.
Linking to an existing group installs the group's addons that you don't have yet. After that, every change you make in Tinker goes to the group, and the CurseForge app on your other computers picks it up.
You can use both kinds of sync at once.
